Helping Other Players Complete Their Full Sets is Good karma

Since a Deal Breaker can only be used to steal full sets sometimes it’s good strategy to “help” your opponent complete a full set. One way to “help” your opponent is to entice them into completing that set. For example, if your opponent has two dark green property cards on the table (none are dual color wild property cards) and you have one in your hand (as well as a Deal Breaker), laying it down may be enough to entice them to steal it to complete their own full green set, you can then use your Deal Breaker on your next turn to steal that full set...

Maybe this is a Just Say No or Maybe it Isn’t…

Make your opponents think you have cards like the Just Say No or Deal Breaker even if you actually have them. One way to make your opponents think this would be to keep one card (start the first time you actually have a Just Say No action card) separate from the rest of the cards in your hand face down on the table. Then use it when you need to. The next time you place a single card (or multiple cards) face down on the table separate from your hand your opponents will think they are important cards and may hesitate to use the Deal Breaker on you. Only works if you do sometimes have a Just Say No and play it like this. Another way is to hesitate paying Rent or giving over property to an opponent by pretending to decide if you should use a card from your hand. While it doesn’t get you out of that scenario it does create a fraction of doubt in your opponents mind for next time they go to play a Deal Breaker action card against you.

Sly Deal and Force Rent – Make Money and Property

If you have a Force Deal or a Sly Deal and a Rent card for a property color you don’t currently have, look for that property color in the other player’s cards. Look for opportunities to pair the force or Sly Deal card with the Rent card you have but can’t use. If have a green Rent card but no green property card and your opponent does, on your turn use a Sly Deal card to take their green property card and then in the same turn play your green Rent card. This way you get a new property plus Rent vs. just laying the Rent card in your Bank or holding onto it for too long.
